Guru Nanak Mat. Hr. Sec. School was established in the year 1975 and was located inside the college campus till 1984. In 1979 the Government of Tamil Nadu ordered the closure of the Pre-University course in colleges and introduced Higher Secondary course in schools. As a result this course from Guru Nanak College was shifted to Guru Nanak School that was functioning in the Guru Nanak College campus, converting the school into a Higher Secondary School.
In 1984 a separate building was constructed in from of the college campus and the school started to function in the new building since then. The school building was declared open by HIS EXCELLENCY GIANI ZAIL SINGH, President of India on 28th July 1985 in the presence of H.E. Thiru S.L.Khurana, Governor of Tamil Nadu.
The school imparts general education and aims to inculcate a spirit of self confidence, sense of duty and discipline. The motto of the school is “Learn to Live and Live to Learn”. The main stress is on Guru Nanak Devji’s philosophy of “Truth & Humility”. The school caters to both boys and girls from Pre-KG to XII standard. The school follows the Matriculation System from classes L.K.G to X and the Tamil Nadu State Board Higher Secondary System for classes XI and XII.
